How to get here

Cloncurry is a town situated in North West Queensland, Australia, which sits on the junctions of the Matilda Highway and Overlander’s Way.  Having a stopover is a must for anyone travelling on the main highway from Brisbane to Darwin.

The Curry, as it is affectionately known by locals, is 120km east of Mount Isa, 400km south of the Gulf of Carpentaria and 770 kilometres west of the city of Townsville along the Overlander’s Way (via the Flinders Highway).

Cloncurry is accessible by road, rail and air and a popular stop for outback adventure coach tours.

Road – Road access to the region is accessible from major cities such as Darwin, Townsville and Brisbane and suitable for all types of vehicles. Download a Map of Outback Queensland in PDF format (4mb).
